KALDEWEI, Ahlen, March 2021 – Functionality and style do not have to be mutually exclusive when planning a barrier-free bathroom. On the contrary: Comfort and aesthetics can be perfectly combined. KALDEWEI shows how it is done, helps with planning, advises on questions regarding subsidies and offers the right, certified and subsidised premium products. Whether shower surfaces, washbasins or bathtubs – with KALDEWEI, a barrier-free bathroom can easily become a (stylish) safe oasis of well-being.
Cayonoplan Multispace – certified according to DIN Certco of TÜV Rheinland
With the new Cayonoplan Multispace, KALDEWEI offers an innovation especially for barrier-free bathrooms. The floor-level shower made of sustainable steel enamel is the first shower surface certified by TÜV Rheinland in accordance with DIN Certco, which enables barrier-free construction in accordance with DIN 18040-2 and which can be planned with up to 60 percent in the movement area of the bathroom. Even small bathrooms with a size of only four square metres can be transformed into barrier-free places of well-being thanks to the Cayonoplan Multispace.
Accessibility is not a question of age
Barrier-free bathrooms are no longer just for people of the older generation with physical limitations. Individual usage requirements are now a central component of sanitary facilities. A barrier-free bathroom should offer enough room to move around and be future-proof. After all, needs can change.
In the bathroom in particular, every phase of life is characterised by certain usage habits. The one thing they all have in common, regardless of age, is the absolute centrality of independence and autonomy in the bathroom. However, aesthetics are also becoming increasingly important. Functionality that increases comfort and a modern look are also perceived by younger people as a clear benefit. All users can benefit from the added convenience. Thanks to innovative further developments of the washbasins, bathtubs and shower surfaces from KALDEWEI, in a barrier-free bathroom no compromises have to be made in terms of design, colour and quality.
Shower areas eligible for subsidies according to DIN standards
KALDEWEI provides its customers with comprehensive advice on the subject by means of its own website and helps with planning, design and implementation with the online bathroom planner. Funding and financing options, such as those from KfW Bank, are applied for through your own bank. KfW-Bank subsidises up to 6,250 Euro for the construction of a bathroom for people with disabilities and for a renovation that reduces barriers. The corresponding funding pools for 2021 are currently filled again. Many plumbers apply for the funds for their customers; it is important to note that the application should be submitted before construction begins.
Modifications for the creation of accessibility in accordance with DIN 18040-2 are generally supported. The “DIN barrier-free” seal from DIN Certco provides orientation and security as to which products can be planned for a DIN-compliant and therefore subsidy-eligible renovation. There are eight enamelled shower surfaces from KALDEWEI with the “DIN barrier-free” seal to choose from. The conversion from a conventional to a barrier-free shower can be implemented with the Cayonoplan Multispace, for example.
