Ahlen, March 2015. – KALDEWEI and Anke Salomon have collaborated on the design of a new bathroom collection. The industry-experienced designer is responsible for no fewer than three product lines which are characterised by their organic and sensual design vocabulary. “The material flows softly and gently inwards from the precise tub rim,” Salomon says, describing the unmistakable aesthetic of the design. The result is the Incava bath, the Meisterstück Incava and the Silenio line, comprising a bath and washbasin.
Authentic, harmonious and sensual: like a piece of fabric that, hanging freely, forms a soft hollow, so are the interior contours of the KALDEWEI baths and washbasins by Anke Salomon. And yet the new product series are clearly differentiated thanks to their distinctive design features such as individual corner radii, edge heights and differently designed waste outlets.
KALDEWEI Meisterstück Incava
The distinguishing features of the free-standing Meisterstück Incava bath are its ultra narrow rim and the unique, conical contour of the enamelled trim. Both lend the bath an extraordinary lightness. The contrast between the softly shaped interior and the geometrical exterior creates a new kind of elegance thanks to the delicate tension between straight and gently curving lines. A waste and overflow cover enamelled in the same colour as the bath is indicative of the designer’s eye for detail and emphasises this steel enamel bath’s consistent materiality. The KALDEWEI Meisterstück Incava thus becomes an unmistakable designer object for the bathroom.
KALDEWEI Incava
The recessed version of the Incava equally meets the highest standards of design. The soft lines of the interior with two extra-wide back slopes taper into a striking, 50
millimetre-high tub rim. Generous corner radii accentuate the sensually soft design vocabulary of the bath, lending it a completely new, self-contained character. As with the Meisterstück Incava, a waste and overflow cover enamelled in the same colour as the bath completes the harmonious design of the KALDEWEI Incava.
KALDEWEI Silenio
With the KALDEWEI Silenio product family, bath and washbasin are harmoniously combined. Silenio is also distinguished by exceptionally soft interior lines. Its characteristic features are the flat tub rim of a mere 20 millimetres, and the extra sharp corner radii. They allow the Silenio bath to visually melt into the bathroom. The matching Silenio washbasins also pick up on the organic design of the Silenio bath. Flowing gently inwards from both sides, the lines open out into a soft hollow that offers an exciting contrast to the steeply falling rear section of the washbasin and the spacious surround that offers plenty of room for fittings and accessories.
With the new Incava and Silenio product series, KALDEWEI has enhanced its product portfolio with new models that are distinguished by a gentle and sensual design vocabulary. As Anke Salomon emphasises, “The organic, flowing aesthetic in combination with long-lasting, solid KALDEWEI steel enamel produces an exceptionally exciting arrangement of design and material.”
