Best Awards for the Key Piece Meisterstück Oyo Duo by KALDEWEI: The jury verdicts underline the pioneering role of the Luxstainability® World

KALDEWEI, Ahlen, June 2023 – With their Luxstainability® concept KALDEWEI shows how the combination of sustainability and design in the field of bathroom architecture succeeds by means of extraordinary product innovations. The latest Key Piece in this pioneering achievement is the Meisterstück Oyo Duo freestanding bathtub by Stefan Diez. With its flowing egg shape design it has recently been honoured with other renowned design awards and, shortly after the product launch, has become one of KALDEWEI’s most successful and coveted design pieces.

Oyo Duo impressed the international jury with its organic design, its uncompromising durability and 100 percent circularity. The double-walled Meisterstück, inspired by Japanese porcelain manufacture, is made of fully recyclable steel enamel. With this concept, KALDEWEI combines form and design with sustainability and resource conservation. With this in mind, designer Stefan Diez has created a sculpture with the Meisterstück Oyo Duo which integrates harmoniously into the bathroom and seems almost to float. This Luxstainability® concept has led to top ratings in international design awards.

International design awards
The Meisterstück Oyo Duo has already received the German Design Award 2023 from the German Design Council. Now it has received further national and international design awards, including the iF Design Award and the Red Dot Award. This is considered one of the most important awards in the field of architecture and product design worldwide. And iF International Forum Design GmbH, the world’s oldest independent design institution, put it in a nutshell in its assessment of the Oyo Duo: “There is no comparable product made from this material.”

In 2022, the luxurious bathtub had already won over the 40-member jury at the international Archiproducts Design Awards (ADA). In the UK, the Oyo Duo was also able to win two awards: the Mixology Awards and the Ideal Home Bathroom Award. In the UK, the Oyo Duo won the Ideal Home Bathroom Award and also in the 2023 Mixology Awards, the OYO DUO won bathroom product of the year “We are delighted that Mixology chose the OYO DUO as bathroom product of the year and that Ideal Home magazine selected KALDEWEI as the sustainability winner of their 2023 Bathroom Awards” said Adam Teal, Sales Director KALDEWEI UK. “Sustainability has always been a central concern for KALDEWEI, whose ethos is based on circular economy, creating stylish, sustainable products that have a long and useful life and are then fully recycled back into the materials cycle.” Ideal Home’s Deputy Editor Ginevra Benedetti sums it up: “This sustainable bathtub is a top performer.”
