KALDEWEI washbasins: World premiere at the ISH in Frankfurt

Ahlen, March 2015. – KALDEWEI will launch a new product segment at the ISH 2015: washbasins made of KALDEWEI steel enamel represent the logical expansion of the existing product portfolio. Now, alongside new design lines, matching washbasins are also available to go with the most successful KALDEWEI model lines. In this way KALDEWEI customers have the opportunity to fit-out their bathrooms in a single material, with a coherent design vocabulary and coordinated colours – from shower area to bathtub to washbasin. “With this expansion we are transferring the superior qualities of the material, KALDEWEI steel enamel, such as stability, hygiene and ease of cleaning, from the proven KALDEWEI shower surfaces and bathtubs to washbasins. This is not only logical but also fulfils the oft-expressed wish of leading architects, property decision-makers and developers,” explains Franz KALDEWEI. Thanks to even greater flexibility and integrated design, KALDEWEI steel enamel will be establishing itself even more firmly, including in the project area.

Washbasins for KALDEWEI classics
Matching washbasins made of KALDEWEI steel enamel are available now to go with the important KALDEWEI product families, Puro, Cono and Centro. These pick up on the respective characteristic design elements of the bathtubs or shower surfaces, offering perfect scope for combination in the modern bathroom. The straight-lined, clean-cut contours of the rectangular Puro bathtub, for instance, have been transferred to the design of the corresponding Puro washbasin. The Conoduo bathtub and its companion, the Conoflat floor-level shower surface now also form a single design family with the matching Cono washbasin. The minimalist lines and a rectangular, enamelled outflow cover are recurring elements of the three components, shower surface, bathtub and washbasin. A further washbasin series, the Centro, is oriented to the design of the successful Centro bathtub family.
The interior shape is based on the geometry of the circle, combining this with the characteristically clean-cut lines and round, enamelled outflow cover of the Centro family.

KALDEWEI Meisterstück Emerso by Arik Levy
In collaboration with star designer Arik Levy, KALDEWEI has extended its Meisterstücke premium segment with both a free-standing bathtub and a matching washbasin series. Continuous tensions between austere geometry and gently curving shapes and radii that repeatedly captivate the eye, are central here. “My KALDEWEI Meisterstücke – both bathtub and washbasin – are characterised by a clean-cut, sculptural design with the aim of making them as ergonomic and pleasing as possible,” Levy explains. “It was not about creating a new shape, but rather about finding a range of parameters that would ultimately give rise to a perfect product.” The Meisterstück Emerso washbasin is the inversely designed counterpart to the Meisterstück Emerso bathtub, harmonising perfectly with the tub by picking up on the latter’s characteristic design features. Appearing to be poured seamlessly of KALDEWEI steel enamel, and with a rim that slopes gently inwards, the free-standing Emerso washbasin can be accessed from all sides, creating a very special effect on the bathroom architecture. The Meisterstück Emerso washbasin from Arik Levy is also available as a built-in model.

KALDEWEI Silenio by Anke Salomon
With KALDEWEI Silenio, Anke Salomon has created a completely new design vocabulary for the KALDEWEI Ambiente segment: bathtubs and washbasins in this series are coordinated with each other, and are distinguished by their harmonious, fluid shapes. From the sides, the interior contours of the Silenio washbasin slope gently inwards, forming a soft, organic hollow. In contrast, the precisely-shaped rim and the steep drop of the rear part of the washbasin guarantee optimal comfort.

One material for shower surface, bathtub and washbasin: KALDEWEI steel enamel.
Although thanks to their right angles and small radii all KALDEWEI washbasins are perfect soloists, in combination with furniture and boards, they can also be used to produce looks that are sublimely elegant and timeless. Installation is, as one would expect, simple and reliable: depending on the model series KALDEWEI washbasins are available in up to four sizes, and have been developed for installation in many different ways. From undercounter washbasin, to built-in or countertop versions with two different rim heights, individually installable wall-hung washbasins, or free-standing Meisterstück washbasins that can be positioned anywhere in the room, all products are made of the ideal material for the bathroom: KALDEWEI steel enamel. Steel enamel has demonstrated its obvious material benefits in the bathroom over decades. A surface made of KALDEWEI steel enamel is not only of ultra high quality, but is also easy to clean and durable. A distinct added advantage for the heavily-used washbasin which KALDEWEI has now added to its product portfolio.
